Just thought to drop by - how are all you guys? I'm surprised the board is still up given its lack of activity.

Still get notifications when there are new posts. I have been noticing the habitual nature of many including myself. So hard to break habits and I'm mindful that anything repetitive is something that can connect or remind me more of my real nature of love or do the opposite. I have let my conscious breath control slip and there's nothing more habitual than breathing. One advantage of meditation is conscious breathing so I am admitting that I have let that practice slip also. I am now finding it hard to relax back into one breath per minute, whereas I was finding that quite easy to achieve a little while back. I can see that breath is similar to our very nature, it's part of us all but we take it for granted and then don't notice it, which is similar to what it is that uses this body - mind vehicle here in this awake dream. Thank you. Bee

Why hello bee! The only thing I have been doing on this site is logging in to delete spammers. Thank goodness, it’s nice to see your post.
Well, I agree with you. At least for me, many times, it is certainly not an automatic response to do the right thing. I perceive something that is just a tiny bit disagreeable and almost automatically have a resistive reflex. But this is where the real practice comes in, no? Instead of being so attached to an imaginary, narrow, judgmental, reactionary self-image, stop and become aware of what you’re doing. Yes, it is all good and well to have those beautiful mystical experiences, or what have you, but at the end of the day, as many teachers have pointed out, they are just a passing experiences. The real practice comes in the day to day process of de-conditioning, of being more open and compassionate. We know the path we want to be on, we know what we really are, it is just a matter of doing as we know. And that is the beauty of life. As Nisargadatta use to say 'its not the goal, but the very path you struggle on' - (something to that affect)
I don’t do many breathing exercises and if I do meditate it is after some yoga exercise and a little caffeine - and then I am calm and relaxed and can let it all go (sometimes). I do have a breathing app on my phone. There is a visual bar that measures how long you should breathe in, hold it and breathe out. I tried it out the other day and thought I was going asphyxiate. The yoga people say that it’s not good to breathe so fast, but is that really true?
Well it would be nice if some other people chime in here once in a while. I did check out some other sites but my narrow, judgmental, reactionary self did not want to invest my time in them. I do contribute to my tumblr blog. I rewrite quotes, do a little writing and in some cases answer questions.
